* Advisers to Royal Bank of Scotland on the public takeover of First Active. Total €800 million.

* Advisers to Warburg Pincus in the acquisition of packaging firm, Clondalkin in a deal which values the group at €630million and ranks as the largest European investment by Warburg Pincus to date.

* Advisers to building materials group Heiton Group Plc on a €353 million takeover bid by Grafton Group Plc.

* Advisers to Maiden Acquisition Company Limited in the aquisition of the Batchelors Food business from Northern Foods. Deal Value €95 million.

* Advisers to Valentia Telecommunications Limited on the taking private of eircom plc. Winner of Legal Business Private Equity Team of the Year 2002 Award. Total consideration - approx. €3 billion.

* Advisers to Pernod Ricard in the MBO of its BWG wholesaling and retail division in Ireland and the UK to Electra. Total consideration - €235 million.

* Advisers to Alphyra Group plc in connection with the public to private takeover offer by Rendina Limited. Transaction valued at €88 million.

* Advisers to Elan Corporation, plc on its restructuring and recovery programme involving the disposal by it of up to $1.5 billion of assets, including the completed sale to Enzon Inc. of the US, Canadian and Japanese rights to Abelcet. Total consideration - US$370 million.

* Advisers to Bank of Scotland (now HBOS plc) on the acquisition of ICC Bank plc. Total consideration - IR£296 million.

* Advisers to the Minister for Finance in the sale of ACC Bank plc to Rabobank. Total consideration - €165 million.

* Advisers to Irish Life & Permanent, plc in its acquisition of TSB Bank in a transaction voted "deal of the year" by Finance Magazine. Total consideration - approx. €366 million.

* Advisers in the de-mutualisation and sale of Scottish Provident to Abbey National valued at STG£2 billion.

* Advisers to Prudential International Assurance, an Irish life assurance company within the Prudential UK Group, on the sale of a division of its life business. Transaction valued at €129 million.

* Advisers to the underwriters, Lehman Bros., SG Cowen and Prudential Securities in a secondary offering valued at US $60 million by Iona Technologies plc.

* Advisers to Friends First on the acquisition of Liberty Asset.

* Advisers to KPMG Ireland in connection with the admission of former partners and the engagement of former staff of Andersen Ireland. This was the only KPMG/Andersen deal in Europe.

* Advisers to a banking syndicate who financed the acquisition of 57% of the share capital of UK retailer Budgens by Musgraves Group. Total consideration - €275m.

* Advisers to Allergan Inc on the spin off and IPO of its medical optics and eye-care business.

* Advisers to Powerscourt Capital on its placing and underwriting of an open offer in London Irish Holdings.

* Advisers to the Bank of Ireland Group in the integration of the life assurance business of Lifetime Assurance and New Ireland Assurance. Total value of integrated businesses approx. €14 billion.

* Advisers to Cable and Wireless PLC on the Irish aspects of an international reorganisation.

* Advisers to Fruit of the Loom International Limited on the Irish aspects of an international reorganisation.
