We have a dedicated team with a reputation for handling complex, cutting edge judicial review cases, many of which have shaped the law in this field. We can advise on legal entitlements to public services and negotiate with local Councils to put right mistakes and obtain assessments for services as well as take action in court to ensure that the correct assessments are made and speed up provision that has not been made. We can assist you to ensure that you are able to properly access services offered by the State. Contact us for advice about getting help from the health and social services for: * People with disabilities Contact us for advice upon all areas concerning access and choice within public services to include: * Human rights entitlements to all the public services. * Issues of choice within health services to include disputes about abortion and forced treatment, access to GPs and access to support and information for mothers and families. * Access to information and records held by public bodies. Disputes regarding, Data Protection Act issues and Freedom of Information Act. * Challenging decisions of funding bodies and failure of public bodies to consult. We also advise voluntary
organisations, pro-bono groups and charities about changes in the law
and the role they can play and regularly provide training sessions and
guidance materials in this area. Fisher Meredith's mental health team has a strong interest in advising and representing clients subject to compulsory detention under the Mental Health Act. With the passing of these Acts of Parliament, the team will be able to advise clients on their rights under the Acts and mount legal challenges to decisions which interfere with their human rights.
